These clamps are used to hang the earthwire.
Much of the dynamic bending stresses created by winds and icing on the cable are absorbed in the elastomer insert. No compression efforts thanks to the lack of pressure bolts. Bending stress is highly reduced because of its distribution over the whole area of the helical rods and not only at the exit point of the clamp.
