Description
Functions: 1. It reinforces the conductor at the suspension point and protects it from the damage due to both static and dynamic forces, e.g. longitudinal traction, flexion due to bending, radial compression, torsion, alternative flexion, etc. 2. It repairs up to 50% of the damage of the outer aluminium layer.
Placement: Although the degree of protection required for a specific line depends on a number of factors, such as the design of the line itself, the extreme temperatures and winds speeds expected, the conductor tension, etc, as a general recommendation Armor Rods should be used as minimum protection where conventional, bolted clamps are used for conductor suspension.
Conductors: For use on galvanized steel cables and aluminium clad steel cables. They are supplied with: • Number of rods per set. • Colour code to help identify the size of the conductor on which it is to be installed. • Centering mark for installation positioning. • Identification with catalogue code and the range of conductor diameters for which it is suitable.
